Plain language, no legal filler

Privacy Policy

This page explains, in plain language, what happens to the names you type into the ship name generator, what this site collects when you simply visit it, and who to contact with questions. The short version: both the couple mode and the vessel mode work entirely inside your own browser, nothing you type is sent to a server, and this site does not use advertising trackers.

The Generator Itself Collects Nothing You Type

Every couple name blend and every nautical vessel name on this site is calculated as plain JavaScript running on your own device. When you type a name into either input field, the blending and generation happen locally in your browser and the results are shown to you immediately. Nothing you type is sent to a server, stored in a database, or visible to us in any form. If you close the tab, everything you typed is gone.

This applies equally to both modes: the two names you enter for a couple ship name, and the style you select for a nautical vessel name, never leave your browser tab.

What This Site Collects When You Simply Visit It

Like almost every website, basic technical information passes through our hosting provider automatically as part of serving pages, such as your approximate region (derived from network routing, not GPS), the page requested, and standard technical request headers. This is normal web server operation, not something specific to this site, and it is not linked to anything you type into either generator mode.

This site does not run advertising tracking pixels, does not use cross-site tracking cookies, and does not sell visitor data to third parties. The only interaction data collected is the anonymous thumbs-up or thumbs-down feedback signal described below, if you choose to use it.

No Page-View Analytics Tool Is Currently Installed

This site does not currently run a client-side analytics or page-view counting script. No script tracks which pages you view, how long you stay, or what you click, beyond the anonymous feedback signal described below. If that ever changes, this page will be updated first to say exactly what was added and why.

Local Storage Is Not Used to Track You

This site does not currently persist your input between visits, so there is no local record of names you've previously blended saved on your device by this site. Each visit starts fresh with the example names shown by default, and anything you type afterward stays only for the duration of that browser tab.

Feedback and Contact

If you use the thumbs-up or thumbs-down feedback control on this site, an anonymous rating is recorded for that page, with no personal information attached and no way to trace it back to you individually.

If you email us at contact@shipnamegenerator.xyz, we naturally receive whatever information you choose to include in that email, such as your email address and the content of your message. That information is used only to reply to you and is not added to any marketing list or shared with third parties.

See the ship name generator, the ship name ideas page, or the how it works page for more about the tool itself.

Cookies and Third-Party Services

This site does not set advertising or tracking cookies and does not currently run a client-side analytics script (see the section above). If a display advertising network or an analytics tool is added to this site in the future, this page will be updated to disclose that change before it takes effect, not after.

Children's Privacy

This site is a general-audience naming tool and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since neither generator mode transmits or stores anything you type, there is no personal data collected from any visitor, regardless of age, beyond the anonymous technical hosting information described above.

Your Rights and Choices

Since this site does not collect or store personal information from your use of either generator mode, there is generally nothing to request, correct, or delete beyond an email you may have voluntarily sent us. If you have emailed contact@shipnamegenerator.xyz and would like that message deleted from our inbox, send a follow-up request and it will be removed. You can also clear any browser-level data associated with this site at any time through your browser's own settings, independent of anything this site controls.

Hosting and Infrastructure

This site is served through a standard content delivery network, which is normal for any modern website and is what allows pages to load quickly wherever you are. That infrastructure provider may process standard technical request data (like IP address and request timing) as part of delivering the page to you, in the same way any web host does, but this is unrelated to and never combined with anything you type into the generator.

Data Retention

Because the generator itself stores nothing you type, there is no retention period to describe for that data, it simply never exists outside your browser tab. Anonymous feedback votes and standard hosting logs are retained only as long as needed for basic site operation and are not linked to an individual visitor's identity.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes in a way that affects what data is collected, this page will be updated to reflect the new practice before it takes effect. There is no separate mailing list to notify, since this site does not collect email addresses from visitors.
